Reservation is Injustice

The Indian media is flooded with reports of students protesting all over the country against the reservation being proposed for the OBC. It is absolute injustice to extend the reservations for any community or sect at the cost of reduction of seats for the general quota. In today's world, there is no need for reservation. All the factors which were considered to setup the system of reservations 60 years back, no longer prevail. The education field today should be of equal opportunity and a game of talent. Only the fittest should survive. Anyone taking the cover of anything else other than skill and talent, will eventually fail for sure.

It is sad that the students protesting against the injustice are facing further injustice in the form of intimidation from the police, from the college/university authorities etc. The same idea of reservation was tried to be thrust upon the Private firms in India, only to be denied outrightly from being accepted in any organization. It is common sense that no company or firm would like to take substandard input to produce substandard output. It is like the simple concept that we learnt at our Engineering college, GIGO, Garbage in Garbage out. What the Government is trying to do is exactly that. I am totally against any kind of reservations and whole heartedly support the protesting students in India.
